“My business is thriving, but my relationships are suffering.”
“I’m making lots of money, but my health is deteriorating.”
“I love my work, but I have no time for anything else.”
“I love my family and friends, but I hate my job.”

Why do we live in a world where the word “but” has become so acceptable?
It’s almost expected, isn't it?
That in order to have success or fulfillment in one area, it needs to come at a cost.
It’s as if we believe that we only have so much success in our success-pie. And in order to achieve full success in one area, something has to give from another.
We compartmentalize. We feel really good in one area, but not in others.
It doesn’t have to be this way. There’s a way of having it all - of reaching your level of success but also with that feeling of fulfillment.
Success doesn’t have to be at the cost of something else.
When you can master your mindset, you can create a life where you're able to show up and achieve the results you desire, with confidence, fulfillment and balance.
To listen to part one of this two part podcast series, where I am going to walk you through the foundation and the habits and disciplines you need to incorporate so that you CAN achieve both - success and fulfillment, head over to my podcast.
Part one is all about reflection and assessment - where are you currently at? I’m going to walk you through a few key areas that you may need to reflect and work on in order to work towards mastering your mindset.
In each category, journal what comes up for you with the questions I’m about to ask. And rate yourself on scale of 1-10 as a way to gauge your current state and to act as a benchmark moving forward.
1. Clarity
Are you clear on the goals that you are working towards?
Are you clear on what you want your life to look like in the next 10 years?
Are you clear on what success really looks like for you?
Is your measure of success holding you back? Often times we lower our bar to protect ourselves, to make ourselves feel better...Are you pushing yourself to be your boldest and best self?
Are you clear on your mission and your purpose in life?
Are you doing your life’s work? And if not, are you able to find that meaning and purpose somewhere else?
2. Energy
How are you taking care of yourself?
Do you have consistent habits in place that encompass all aspects of your self-care...your nutrition, exercise, personal development, sleep?
How are your stress levels? What are your successes in this area? And what areas do you need to focus more attention on?
If you had more time, what would you do to help your energy levels?
3. Courage
Think about how far you can push yourself - are you there?
Are you showing up as your most courageous self in your life?
Where might you be holding back because of a lack of courage?
What is missing that is preventing you from being your most authentic, bold and courageous self?
Are your goals big enough?
Are you hesitating to move forward and leaning on your excuses? Where do you need to step it up even further?
This is a tough area for people to focus on...it’s difficult to acknowledge the areas that we are holding back, the areas that we fear and that we know we could be doing better in. Don’t avoid going to those areas that don’t make you feel the best about yourself - that’s where the power is. That is exactly where you need to be...acknowledge the fears, the feelings, the doubts so that you can move forward with more courage.
4. Productivity
How productive are you on a daily or weekly basis?
Are you always feeling like there isn’t enough time in your day?
Do you have the daily habits and disciplines necessary to be your most productive self?
To generate more time in your life, not only do you need to assess those habits and disciplines, but you need to be able to audit your time and make some tough decisions in terms of what you need to cut out or delegate to generate that time.
5. Influence
Are you generating the influence that you need in your life to move yourself forward with confidence, grace and persuasion?
Do you feel strong and confident to be able to get the results you are looking for in life?
Influence sometimes has a negative connotation, but it can be a beautiful thing when you connect it to authentic intentions and worthwhile goals.
Where are you holding back here?
Is there a place in your life, where just 10% more influence, would change the dynamics of your life? It could be financially, romantically, with your children and your family, with your overall level of communication.
Where do you stand with your current level of influence in your life?

Now that I’ve asked you some key questions in those 4 areas, reflect and score yourself in each area. Mastering your mindset is about moving forward in each one of those areas. Next, write down one step or one choice in each category that you can start doing right away that’s going to move you forward...something that will move that 7 to an 8.
I urge you to challenge yourself here.
Things don’t change unless you make different choices. And it just has to start with one choice in each area. This is how you start to master your mindset and really level yourself up in your life.
